Stavanger University Hospital (SUS) is asking retired health workers and students in health sciences to step in and help.

“As the situation is now, we need more hands. Especially towards Christmas,” Helle Schøyen, CEO of Stavanger University Hospital, stated on Thursday.

“We ask pensioners and others with an education in health sciences to sign up if they are interested in taking some shifts in the future,” she told the newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad.

More cases of the coronavirus, a lot of respiratory diseases, and the RS virus have led to the beds at SUS being filled up in November. In addition, sickness absence among employees has been high.
