There is a lot of activity aimed at producing the government platform, Labor Party (AP) leader Jonas Gahr Støre said on Thursday.
The AP and the Center Party (SP) met the press at Hurdalsjøen Hotell on Thursday. The two parties continued with negotiations after SV withdrew from the polls.
“We have really accelerated that process. The days up to yesterday were not wasted. Much has been discussed and clarified. We have high activity and production on what will be a platform,” Støre said.
“The atmosphere is good,” he added.
SP leader Trygve Slagsvold Vedum added that the parties are working thoroughly and have a good and constructive tone.
In contact with the SV
Støre also said that he has been in contact with Socialist Left Party (SV) leader Audun Lysbakken after the party withdrew from the government coalition talks. The tone (of the discussion with SV) is also good, according to the AP leader.
On Thursday, Lysbakken warned the new government against “slalom skiing” between the right and left when it comes to finding support in the Norwegian parliament (Storting).
“We are focusing on creating a proper platform. We must relate to the Storting in an orderly manner, as a minority government does.”
