A total of 54% of people surveyed in a recent Respons Analyze poll stated that they agree with the government’s policy of continuing oil and gas exploration activities in new areas.
In the opinion poll, which Respons Analyze has carried out for the newspaper VG, 36% said they disagree that Norway should look for oil and gas in new areas.
Furthermore, 10% were “not sure.”
“The oil industry is a very large and important industry for Norway, with approximately 210,00 people directly or indirectly employed,” Minister of Oil and Energy Marte Mjøs Persen (AP) stated.
The survey was conducted between October 13 and 18, and 1,001 people took part in the survey. The margin of error is between 2 and 3%.
