The Norwegian Directorate of Health is recommending increased use of self-tests as a tool to get better control over the infection situation in Norway. They estimate the need for up to 850,000 self-tests a week.
The Norwegian Directorate of Health recommends more frequent use of self-tests in schools, among health personnel, and among household members of corona-infected persons.
“So far, we have enough tests for all municipalities that need it, also for testing in school. We are in the process of ordering more self-tests and are well supplied this year. In mid-December, we will receive another 10 million self-tests,” assistant health director Espen Rostrup Nakstad said.
In total, it will amount to 841,000 self-tests per week.
