Audiences flocked back to Norwegian cinemas in October, making it a record-breaking month for the industry after difficult times during the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the industry organization Film & Kino, in this millennium, only October 2016 – with 1,480,423 visits – ranked higher than October 2021 -with 1,290,893 visits.
This is largely due to the James Bond film No Time to Die, but in any case, there are many indications that the cinema audience may be back in full force.
So far, it looks like the number of cinema visits this year will pass six million, which is more than half of what is usual in a year of full operation.
In 2021, cinemas have only had three months without restrictions. Cinemas in the Oslo region were completely closed for almost half of the year.
