Nearly one in four adult Norwegians now has a profile on Tiktok. But Facebook is still the most popular social media platform in Norway, according to the Ipsos SoMe tracker, a survey that has followed Norwegians’ use of social media since 2013.
New figures from the first quarter show that 23% of those surveyed over the age of 18 in Norway had a profile on the video app TikTok. This is an increase of 5% compared with the same quarter last year.
TikTok is most popular among young people and is used daily by 41% of the respondents aged 18-29 years. Among those over 60, only 1% use TikTok daily.
Facebook is the most popular social media. As many as 82% of adults surveyed in Norway say they have a profile on Facebook, and 67% say they use Facebook daily. At the same time, 55% say they use the messaging service Facebook Messenger daily.
Instagram is in second place. Two out of three adults (67%) surveyed have a profile, and 44% visit Instagram daily.
Snapchat is in third place. 66% of respondents have a profile, and 49% are on Snapchat daily. Snapchat is also the most popular social media among those aged 18-29. Of these, 66% say they use Snapchat daily, according to Ipsos.
