Fewer unemployed immigrants

Unemployment among immigrants has decreased to 7.2 percent. Unemployment is highest among immigrants from Africa.

Unemployment among immigrants has decreased from 7.5 percent in August last year, to 7.2 percent in August this year, according to Statistics Norway. In the rest of the population, unemployment is at 2.3 percent.
In the same period there has been an increase among immigrants who participate in the labor market.
African immigrants had the highest rate, with 11.9 percent.
This must be seen against the background of the high proportion of refugees in this group, according to Statistics Norway.
Unemployment is also higher among immigrant women than among men.
