In week 7, the export price for fresh salmon was NOK 87.60 per kilo, an increase of 13% from the week before, according to figures from Statistics Norway on Wednesday.
According to E24, that is a new record, and the salmon price is now 72% higher than at the same time last year. The previous record was NOK 78.20 per kilo from week 1 in 2020.
At the same time, the export quantity of fresh salmon in week 7 amounted to 17,933 tonnes – an increase of 1.4% compared with the previous week, when the volume was 17,680 tonnes.
In week 7, 428 tonnes of frozen fish were also exported, at a price of NOK 70.36 per kilo.
