FHI has notified 69 municipalities to monitor about 400 passengers from the two voyages on the MS Roald Amundsen who have seen an outbreak of the Coronavirus.

-”This is already a big outbreak and we are concerned about it spreading further.”, said the Department Director, Line Vold, of the National Institute of Public Health at a press release.

The municipalities in question are spread out over the multiple counties in Norway. Tromsø municipality tests all the passengers staying in the municipality.

-”We also ask the passengers from the voyages who will be staying in other municipalities other than the one they are registered in, to contact the municipality they are in to inform them that they are in quarantine in the municipality. They will also be able to get advice from the local municipal health service where they are.” said Vold.

So far, 33 of the 158 crew members on Hurtigrutens expedition ship MS Roald Amundsen have tested positive for the Coronavirus. On Wednesday, one passenger tested positive after a trip on the ship last week.
