On Wednesday, up to 40 centimeters of snow is expected in large parts of Nordland and the southern part of Troms. The Norwegian Public Roads Administration issued an avalanche warning.
In a press release, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration warned that strong winds are expected, and that the temperature will increase.
“There are weak layers in the current snow cover. Large amounts of fresh snow, therefore, increase the risk of avalanches. In addition, there is an increased risk of slippery roads,” the report from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration notes, adding that motorists should expect closed roads and extended travel time.
Also, in the next few days, there will be large amounts of precipitation, both in the form of snow and rain.
