Eleven residents and three employees have been infected with coronavirus at the Siljuslåtten nursing home in Bergen.
The nursing home is closed to visitors. All those infected have been vaccinated against COVID-19, either with one or two doses. The residents are fully vaccinated.
Infection tracing work and testing are ongoing, Marion Ytre Kvamme, the head of the institution, noted in a press release.
“The situation related to an ongoing outbreak is demanding. We are following our internal guidelines and contingency plan, and the necessary measures have been implemented. We hope that this outbreak will have a good outcome for all those affected,” she added, according to the newspaper Bergens Tidende (BT).
On Friday, 15 nursing homes in Bergen were affected by the coronavirus in the Municipality.

Folks here may have noticed my hesitation about getting vaccinated if I might already have antibodies.
I was finally able to get an antibody test on Friday, and it came back *negative* today/Monday. I don’t have any antibodies, so I have gotten a (safest, Pfizer) vaccine vaccination scheduled with my kommune’s COVID office for this week.
And I have promised not to struggle or cry. 🙂
That is, I have apparently survived the pandemic by dumb luck … and by *always* facemasking (except when in restaurants) out in public … thanks to that 9 March 2020 warning about doing so in the South China Morning Post.
And after I am vaccinated, I shall continue wearing a facemask in public, since even those who are vaccinated can still temporarily get in their breathing passages and pass on the virus, even if they are vaccinated.
And I’ll get the followup vaccination, if I am supposed to.
