The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent embassy personnel to the airport in Bangkok to ensure that persons with a residence permit in Norway are not denied boarding.

This is stated by press spokesperson Guri Solberg in the Foreign Ministry to NRK.

Diplomats from the Norwegian Embassy are also in contact with flight attendants at the check-in desk in Krabi to advise on who can check in.

– “The reason is due to several incidents where people who have lived in Norway for a long time have been denied boarding a flight home,” says Solberg.

The problems arose because the Norwegian border on Monday was closed to foreigners without a residence permit in Norway.
