The former bishop of the Møre diocese, Ole Nordhaug, is dead at 96.
Nordhaug’s son, Halvor Nordhaug, who is bishop of Bjørgvin, confirmed the news in a Facebook post on Sunday.
Halvor Nordhaug told the newspaper Vårt Land that his father was a “warm, humorous, and caring father.”
“He also became, in many ways, a role model for me as a bishop,” he added.
Ole Nordhaug was born in 1925 in Bolsøy in Romsdal. In 1983, he became the first bishop in the newly established Møre diocese. He was the bishop there for eight years until Odd Bondevik took over in 1991.
