The recycling plant Bir Lønningshaugen near Flesland was evacuated on Monday after a grenade-like object was found at the plant.
Communications consultant Tina Skudal in Bir confirmed the information to the newspaper Bergens Tidende.
The police were notified of the situation at 11 AM on Monday. At 12:30 AM, Skudal stated that the police were receiving help from a group from Haakonsvern, the main base of the Royal Norwegian Navy and the largest naval base in the Nordic area.
“We are closed until further notice. We’re waiting for the police to carry out the work. We hope it’s a dummy grenade,” she added.
