A man in his 20s from Hunndalen has been arrested after threatening the police with a knife.
The man was arrested in his home in Hunndalen in Gjøvik Municipality on Saturday afternoon during a welfare check, the Innlandet Police District announced on Saturday.
A welfare check, also known as a wellness check, is when police stop by a person’s home to make sure they are okay.
“We were at the address for a so-called welfare check after receiving a report.
“The man behaved threateningly towards the police in such a way that he was arrested. The police were threatened with a knife,” operations manager Per Solberg in the Innlandet Police District told news bureau NTB.
