New daily infection record registered in Bergen

In the last 24 hours, 993 new cases of corona infection have been registered in Bergen Municipality – the highest daily number of new cases so far. 

On average, 550 corona cases have been registered in Bergen per day in the last week. One week ago, the number was 289, the newspaper Bergens Tidende writes.

On Wednesday, 2,841 people tested themselves for corona.

“Based on average infection rates, there has been an increase in infection of 90% in the last seven days. In the last 24 hours, there has been a significant increase in infection in the age groups from 13 to 49 years, while we have relatively stable numbers among those over 50 years,” infection control officer Marit Voltersvik stated.

On Thursday, 15 corona patients were admitted to Haukeland, Haraldsplass, Stord, and Voss hospitals.
