Did you freeze in October? Maybe not so strange, since this October was the coldest in many years. We have to go all the way back to 2009 and 2003 to find the equivalent.

According to the Meteorological Institute, the monthly temperature for the whole country was 1.4 degrees below normal.

“It was relatively coldest in Northern Norway, especially Troms and Finnmark, where several stations had deviations from 2 to almost 4 degrees below normal. A couple of stations in Western Norway had monthly temperatures of 0.1 to 0.5 degrees above normal, meteorologists said.

In terms of monthly temperature, it was lowest on Sjufjellet in Balsfjord with minus 5.6 degrees. Then followed Sætertinden in Tjelsund and Kistefjell in Lenvik with minus 5 degrees. All of these stations are located in Troms.
