Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H) and Minister of Health Bent Høie (H) hugged each other during Friday’s press conference on the reopening of Norway.
When asked by NTB whether it is possible to see a hug or a handshake between them, Høie said:
“No, not a handshake, but we can hug.”
He emphasized that the two had been able to hug each other for quite some time because they were both fully vaccinated.
“But the handshakes have to wait until tomorrow,” Solberg said.
Solberg said it was very nice to be able to open Norway up again.
“Enormous effort”
“The Norwegian people have made an enormous effort during this period. Many people have reason to be thankful that we have achieved this,” she said.
“We could not have done it without (the people). Many countries have done worse (than Norway). Maybe it’s because they have not been able to get people (behind the efforts) in the same way,” she added.
