Sick leave is now a bigger problem than the pandemic, Oslo City Council chief Raymond Johansen (AP) said on Wednesday. He is ready to remove the distance requirement and reopen the capital.
According to the newspaper VG, the government is planning a press conference on reopening the country at the end of this week.
“There are a few measures left, but sick leave is a bigger challenge now than the pandemic,” Johansen told the newspaper.
He says that the high level of sickness absence will be an issue for a while longer.
“I’m very ready to hear it (note: that the one meter of distance rule could be removed). We have to wait and see and cross our fingers. I think people are ready for the final reopening,” he noted.
“I think it is difficult to defend keeping it in place.”
