SAS is canceling its weekly flight between Norway and the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. It will avoid flying in the country’s airspace in the coming days.
SAS’s press manager, John Eckhoff, confirmed the news to TV 2 on Sunday.
“Due to the situation between Russia and Ukraine, and its possible impact on airports and airspace, SAS has just decided to cancel SK4298 / 99 on Tuesday, February 22,” the press officer noted.
The weekly departure between Oslo and Kyiv is the only flight that the airline has between Norway and Ukraine.
“The risk assessment also includes avoiding Ukraine’s airspace until February 27. SAS makes ongoing assessments of the situation, and will make a decision on the flight on Tuesday, at a later date,” Eckhoff said.
