A total of seven people have been charged with gross fraud against Nav in Bergen. One of them has received close to NOK 2.2 million by providing incorrect information.

We will provide evidence that people who have received benefits from Nav have worked, and that others have received salaries from companies without working, says State Attorney Rudolf Christoffersen to Bergens Tidende.

A 42-year-old man is accused of scamming $ 2.2 million from Nav. He denies criminal charges, states his defense laywer, Marianne Karlsen.

He does not recognize that he has tried to deceive Nav. The case has been a huge burden on him, the defence laywer says.

The case will start in Bergen District Court on September 23, and two and a half months have been set aside for the case, the Bergen newspaper writes.
