Sporveien is buying 20 new three-car trains for the metro in Oslo. They will be delivered before the Fornebu line opens in 2027.
The City Council requested local leadership to approve the order within a cost framework of NOK 3.4 billion, Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) writes.
The need is actually calculated at 29 new trains, but due to financial limitations in Oslo Package 3, Oslo cannot afford the last nine.
Instead, they will be considered as a possible additional order that can be triggered after the renegotiation of the Oslo Package 3 agreement in the first half of 2022.
