Tromsø Municipality registered five new corona cases on Saturday. Currently, 34 people are in isolation as a result of COVID-19.
Three people belong to a known infection cluster, while one has arrived in the city from abroad.
The last person, who lives in Tromsø, currently has an unknown route of infection.
“More than 1,000 tests have been carried out in the last two days. Therefore, this is expected.
“We have not received answers to all tests taken in the last few days, and we expect more positive test results in the next few days. Infection tracing work is still our top priority,” municipal chief medical officer Inger Hilde Trandem noted in a press release.
On Saturday, Tromsø chose to drop stricter corona measures despite increased infection. According to the Municipality, the infection situation is under control.
