56% of all people aged 45 and up in Norway have received three doses of the corona vaccine. More women than men have taken the third dose so far, according to NTB calculations based on Statistics Norway’s population statistics and the vaccination overview of the National Institute of Public Health (FHI).
According to Statistics Norway, there are a total of 2,361,359 Norwegians who are 45 years or older. Of these, 2,221,624 have been vaccinated with two doses, while 1,320,969 have received three.
That means that so far, 59.4% of all fully vaccinated people over the age of 45 have received their third dose. Compared with the total population, the proportion falls to 56%.
According to statistics, women are somewhat more eager to get the third dose than men: 62.3% of women have received three doses, while the same applies to 56.6% of men.
Vaccination goal
The government aims for everyone over 45 to be offered a third dose by mid-January. Just over 900,000 people who have already received two doses still need to be vaccinated.
That means that almost 53,000 vaccine doses must be administered daily among this group, including the New Year weekend, if the goal is to be reached by January 15.
On Tuesday this week, a total of 17,238 third doses were administered, according to the FHI.
