Police is searching for two people after a conflagration in Kristiansand Saturday night.

Three buildings were destroyed completely and in addition several other houses damaged.

Police have spoken to witnesses who said they saw two people running from Henrik Wergeland gate and up against Kirkegata when the fire broke out.

– This is very interesting information. We want to get in touch with others who may have information on the case, said Kristiansand police chief, Ole Hortemo to news agency NTB.

Police also want to hear from people who have videos and pictures from the fire.

Burned

It was at 02:00 am on Sunday that police were called to the fire incident at Kvadraturen in Kristiansand.

– Henrik Wergeland gate 5 is completely burned down. Henrik Wergeland gate 7 and 9 are destroyed completely, but the fire department has the fire under control and a full investigation is initiated, says Hortemo.

Sunday afternoon, Fire fighters were still working and crime technicians were on site.

– It is too early to say anything about the cause of fire but we consider all possible options, he adds.

He stressed that the most important thing so far is we are confident that there have not been people inside the buildings.
