The job for Øystein Olsen’s successor as Norway’s central bank governor is being advertised. NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg is mentioned as a potential candidate.
“We are looking for a strong and unifying leader. The governor should have professional authority and relevant management experience from complex organizations.
“The governor must be a good intermediary, have great credibility, and be able to represent Norges Bank nationally and internationally,” the job announcement states.
The application deadline is December 9. The position is has a term of six years with the possibility of up to six more years.
According to the newspaper Dagens Næringsliv (DN), Jens Stoltenberg will accept the role if asked to do so.

I think Jens feels remorse about Libya and has done a very good job overall as NATO Secretary General.
He has not baited the Russians like the Dane Rasmussen did and has avoided us starting World War 3, and – as long as NATO returns to being a legitimate, *defensive* alliance – Jens’s deterrence-alliance initiatives into the Asia-Pacific helps stability there.
In sum, I think he has good, caring judgment and feels strong responsibility for doing the right thing and would make an excellent Norges Bank governor.
