Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H) says that Norway is open to buying the Sputnik vaccine under certain circumstances.

“We are open to buying the Russian vaccine if it is available, if we have confidence in it, and if we can make a joint purchase with the EU. But I do not want to buy vaccines that have not been approved,” the Prime Minister said on Wednesday in the Norwegian parliament (Storting).

She also said that the Sputnik vaccine would not be a solution to Norway’s current problems with the supply of vaccines against the coronavirus.

“The Russians have indicated that Sputnik vaccines will be available to other countries at the end of the second quarter. That is the time when we will have a large supply of other vaccines – if everything goes according to plan,” Solberg noted.

She also said that Norway had vaccinated a larger proportion of its population than Russia.
