EU announces new rules for corona certificates

On February 1, the EU will change its rules for valid corona certificates. Here are the most important changes:

* Has it been more than 270 days (approximately nine months) since you were vaccinated against the coronavirus? If so, you must provide documentation to prove that you have received a booster dose.

* If you recovered from COVID-19 during the last six months (180 days), you do not have to provide documentation related to the booster dose.

* A valid corona certificate shows that you have taken 3 out of 3, possibly 4 out of 4, vaccine doses. For those who have taken a single-dose vaccine, the certificate must state “2 out of 1” (vaccine + booster dose).

* The certificate has to show whether you recovered from COVID-19.

* Different countries have different rules for whether a corona certificate is required for children. Always check what applies in the country you are traveling to.

* The corona certificate can be found at helsenorge.no/korona certificate.
