Football coach in Oslo sentenced to three and a half years of prison for child abuse

A male football coach in his 20s has been sentenced to three years and six months in prison for abusing two children under the age of 14.

He must also pay compensation of NOK 100,000 to each of the two victims, according to newspaper Nettavisen.

He is convicted of having two children under the age of 14 perform acts equivalent to sexual intercourse. 

State Attorney Ingrid Vormeland Salte says her team would consider whether the sentence will be appealed to the Court of Appeal.

The man’s lawyer Heidi Ysen noted that they do not want to appeal the verdict out of consideration for the victims and their families but that they have to examine the verdict first.
