Magdalena Andersson is asking to resign as Prime Minister of Sweden after the Social Democrats’ coalition partner, the Green Party, left the minority government.
Just hours after Andersson was approved by the Swedish parliament (Riksdag), her budget was voted down.
Instead, the Riksdag approved the budget proposal from the opposition parties Moderaterna (M), Kristdemokraterna (KD), and Sverigedemokraterna (SD).
The Green Party did not support Andersson’s budget, so it left the governing coalition.
