Police fear that stolen cyanide could be dumped

The police don’t rule out that the cargo of cyanide from a stolen van at Romerike may have been dumped.People who find suspicious objects are
being warned.

The van,a Mercedes Sprinter,was stolen on Wednesday night at Lørenskog station.On Monday morning,Eastern Police District had still found no trace of the car.Nor were there any suspects for the theft.

In the van was a plastic container of cyanide,an extremely toxic substance. However,it took two days before the police were informed that the substance had been in the stolen van.

‘’We don’t rule out the cargo could be dumped.

If anyone comes across suspicious items, we ask that the police be notified immediately,and that great care be taken’’ wrote Eastern police district in a press release on Monday morning.

The stolen cargo was part of a shipment that the carrier had picked up in Sweden.It consisted of drugs that were going to several hospitals Dagbladet newspaper wrote last week.
