Never before has Sweden recorded more shooting incidents with a fatal outcome than this year. This year’s 48th shooting victim was killed in Kristianstad on Friday.
More people have been shot dead in Sweden this year than in any previous year. With 48 shooting deaths, the previous record of 47 shooting deaths from 2020 has been surpassed, and there are still three months left in the year.
There is, therefore, a high probability that the number of shooting-related deaths will be even higher before the end of the year.
The 48th shooting took place in Kristianstad late Thursday evening.
“The man is in his 20s and has died as a result of the injuries,” Mikael Lind in the Police Region – South told the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter on Friday.
