A 22 year old Slovak seasonal worker employed in Kristiansand Zoo died Saturday after an accident with a barbecue.
The man was pronounced dead at the hospital in Arendal after he was severely injured by an explosion on a barbecue Saturday morning. Informed Agder Police Saturday afternoon.
– Investigators have completed their work on site, but we will have no more details of what has happened until after the weekend, said operations manager Martin Ugland of Agder police.
– Large mourning
According to the managing director of the zoo, Per Arnstein Aamot, the accident happened most likely with the starting of a barbecue. The explosion occurred at the entrance to Captain Sabertooth World – pirate village in the zoo.
– It is with great sorrow and sadness that we received notification that our seasonal employee died. Our thoughts are with the relatives and staff who have been involved in the incident and with the deceased’s family, said Aamot to NTB Saturday afternoon.
