After opening their doors 55 years ago, the Zoo in Kristiansand on Saturday was able to celebrate 25 million people who have visited the zoo and amusement park.

Before Saturday, only 4,085 guests were missing to hit the milestone number, and just after 14:00, the Fiskaa family from Kristiansand were greeted with cheers and gifts as they entered the gate. Vidar Fiskaa brought his sons Leander (8) and Mads Emil (6) to the park.

The zoo opened in 1965 and had 30,000 guests in the first year. In the last five years, the number of visitors has been about one million annually.
