The temporary collective protection for Ukrainian refugees has entered into force on Friday.

The Norwegian government decided that section 34 of the Immigration Act on collective protection shall be applied immediately to Ukrainian citizens.

According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), more than 2.3 million Ukrainians have fled the country since the Russian invasion two weeks ago.
