Never before have so many people applied to universities and colleges. This year, over 150,000 people have applied for study via Samordna admission.

This is around 12,000 more than in 2019, and an increase of 8.7 per cent. In addition, over 9,400 applied to vocational schools.

“Experience from previous crises shows that more people want to educate themselves when times are bad. The corona crisis is no exception. This year, there is a record number of applicants for higher education. This is good news because Norway needs well-educated people in all sectors in the years to come,” says Higher Education Minister Henrik Asheim (Høyre).
