The Norwegian Taxi Association (NT) does not want taxis to drive patients infected with the coronavirus.

The case was raised on Monday when a trip to an infected person in Trøndelag was ordered, NT writes in a press release. They fear that the cab and the driver themselves may become infected or quarantined.

– We have noticed that some municipalities in their guidelines recommend that people with possible infection should not use public transport or taxis, they write.

The taxis are required by the Transport Regulations to drive sick persons.

– We believe that protection and consideration for the drivers’ own safety override the rule, writes the Taxi Association.
