For the first time in the Norwegian health system, a blood test is carried with a drone. It was sent from Førde Central Hospital to Sunnfjord Hotel.

150 participants at the Health Innovation Conference saw the blood sample arrive at the hotel by drone. Several health authorities are now teaming up with the company Airlift to find the future drone solution for the health care system.

– “We have a ready-made solution. The health authorities now want to look at this. What we see is as the start. Within three years I believe we are in the air,” says general manager Børre Eimhjellen from Airlift.

Every year, millions of blood samples are shipped around the country by everything from mail to air. The company will use the hospital in Førde and Sunnfjord hotels as the test arena for the drone project.
