Joe Biden’s inauguration: What’s on the schedule and where to livestream it from Norway

Here’s where you can catch the United States presidential inauguration and what to expect.

Today, Joe Biden is sworn in as the 46th President of the United States on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. and Kamala Harris is sworn in as Vice President.

The schedule (in Norwegian time)

4:30 PM – 5:30 PM The ceremony. Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, and Garth Brooks are expected to perform at some point.

6:00 PM The oath is taken by Biden then Harris. Then, Biden gives his official inauguration speech.

8:30 PM Biden travels to Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia and lays a wreath. Former Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama attend. Biden then travels with military escorts to the White House and enters the presidential residence for the first time. It is expected that he will soon sign his first presidential order.

9:15 PM The online event “Parade Across America” begins, which replaces the traditional parade.

2:30 AM, Jan 21: Biden participates in a 90-minute long show, “Celebrating America”, led by Tom Hanks.
