Those who do not take the corona vaccine will be infected, immunologist Anne Spurkland says. She believes the virus will not just disappear.
“Either you get vaccinated, or you get COVID. That is the choice. If you do not take the vaccine, you will get COVID sooner or later, that is quite certain,” Anne Spurkland, a professor and immunologist at the University of Oslo, told newspaper VG.
She says the infection will not disappear immediately.
“It is not certain that people will notice any symptoms. Maybe they stop wearing face masks and keeping their distance. This is how it is transmitted further,” Spurkland said.
Around 2.2 million Norwegians have been vaccinated with the first dose of the corona vaccine in Norway, while almost 1.5 million have received the second dose.
The newspaper writes that as long as there is a part of people that is not vaccinated or immune, the virus will continue to spread, similar to the flu virus that circulates every year.
