Six out of ten Norwegians believe hacker attacks and malicious software on the Internet will increase with the corona crisis, according to a survey by Opinion.

At the same time, 66 per cent of those in work say they expect an increase in data attacks, compared to 57 per cent of those who are out of work, according to the survey.

The corona crisis has led to many more Norwegians having home offices, and meetings and conversations have been replaced by video conferencing solutions.

“Never before have so many people been working from home, all at the same time and without it being well planned. Two out of three people in the workforce are expecting more attacks online after corona,” says senior adviser Ola Gaute Aas Askheim at Opinion in a press release.

Figures from the Norwegian Corona Monitor show that 58 per cent of the workforce in Norway mainly have a home office at present.
