There are children among the twelve people who have still not been accounted for after the landslide that took place in Ask in Gjerdrum.

Women and men of different ages are among those who have not been accounted for, as well as children, police task leader Roger Pettersen said at a press briefing at 6:00 PM on Wednesday.

Barely half an hour later, he told TV 2 that the number of people who have not been accounted for has decreased from 15 to twelve.

There are also children among them.

Police are still searching for survivors of the landslide.

Mapping out the area

Pettersen further stated that the police would map out who lives where on Wednesday night.

According to the task leader, there is a possibility for the number of people who have not been accounted for to change.

“Some people have had to run from their houses without a mobile phone, some have appeared at the evacuation center, we have learned via their friends and acquaintances, and some have been out and about,” he explained.

“I must emphasize that the number can change downwards, but maybe also the other way around,” he added.
