Two activists from Extinction Rebellion were arrested on the roof of the Equinor building at Fornebu in Bærum on Thursday morning.

“This is associated with great danger, and, therefore, the police have decided to bring them down from the roof,” operations manager Tor Guldbrandsen in the Oslo Police District told the channel.

The activists set up tent camps at Equinor’s offices on Monday, and there were many activists in the area on Thursday.

Extinction Rebellion and the German environmental activist group Ende Gelände are protesting against Equinor’s involvement in fracking in Vaca Muerta, Argentina.

Fracking involves pumping water, sand, and chemicals into the ground under high pressure to extract oil and gas from shale formations in the ground.
