Norway is more attractive as a destination for Germans this summer than both the Netherlands and Denmark, according to a survey conducted for Innovation Norway.
The survey shows that almost 2.2 million Germans are either planning or considering traveling to Norway this summer, writes Dagens Næringsliv.
This makes Norway almost as attractive as France and Spain, and more popular than the Netherlands and Denmark.
The opportunity for Norwegian tourism naturally presupposes that the borders are opened, but tourism director Bente Bratland Holm at Innovation Norway points out that many Germans have late summer holidays, and that the season can be extended until September.
Due to cuts, Innovation Norway has limited funding to conduct marketing.
“We have a plan for the border opening. But it will not be big, as we have less money than last year, she says.” It is about 1 million kroner, according to Dagens Næringsliv.
At a press conference this Friday 10th July, Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H) and Minister of Health and Care Services Bent Høie (H) will present updated information about travel.
