The second year of the coronavirus pandemic looks like it could be far more deadly than 2020, WHO Director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Friday.
The WHO chief is now asking rich countries to donate vaccines to the Covax program, which will ensure corona vaccine access to developing countries, before they (editor’s note: the rich countries) vaccinate children.
The situation in India, in particular, worries the WHO.
“I understand why some countries want to vaccinate their children and young people, but right now, I am asking them to reconsider and rather donate vaccines to Covax,” Tedros said during a press conference on Friday.
