Clothing sales have gone down by 80 percent in the weeks of severe Coronavirus restrictions, according to a shopping mall index.

The index, compiled by IMAS, covers a total of 40 shopping malls in Norway, writes Finansavisen.

It shows that malls with a grocery store, pharmacy and Liquor Store are most visited. The industries that are most affected are fashion and lifestyle.

– “Clothing sales are down almost 80 percent in weeks 12 and 13, and 70 percent of clothing stores are in malls. Varner is open, but many clothing and shoe stores are closed,” says Harald T. Nilsen, who is an adviser in commerce and shopping centers and who works with IMAS.
