The State Medicines Agency supports British researchers, who have found that the malaria drug hydroxychloroquine has no effect against Covid-19 disease.
– “The study says it has no effect. It does not appear to be harmful, but does not have any effect,” says Medical Director Steinar Madsen in the Norwegian Medicines Agency to NRK.
He supports the conclusion of Professor Martin Landray at the University of Oxford, who believes that one can “stop using a medicine that is worthless”.
– “This is more or less the final answer. There are also results from a large study from WHO called “Solidarity”, in which Norway has also participated. When we have the result of these two studies, we have the final answer,” Madsen tells NRK.
