Four months after the new fine service scheme became nationwide, around 100 people are now performing voluntary fine duties.

This is stated in a press release by the Directorate of Prison and Probation .

The scheme is an offer to people with unpaid fines and where the State Collection Center has tried to recover the fine without managing to.

Since the Government chose to make the scheme nationwide on October 1, people receiving a fine has had the choice between going to jail or doing voluntary work .

The scheme consists of doing community-friendly work, and it is the voluntary care service in the various counties that is responsible for organising this scheme.
